Absolutely! Cody holds a builder's license and maintains his carpentry license. In addition, all our carpenters are fully licensed or actively working towards obtaining their licenses. 

At Shaw Build, we take pride in our unwavering commitment to ensuring that we always have the appropriate insurance coverage to protect both our clients and us. 

When you make the decision to build with us, the first thing we do is take out an appropriate QBCC insurance cover and provide you and the certifier with a certificate of currency. 

We also issue copies of our contract insurance & public liability if needed.  Rest assured that you're in good hands with Shaw Build.

How long is a piece of string? 

At Shaw Build, we understand that time is of the essence, and we strive to complete your project in an efficient manner without compromising on quality. While unforeseen delays such as weather can sometimes be inevitable, we will always work towards completing your dream home as soon as possible. 

Before we even begin quoting the job, we discuss timelines with you to ensure that you and your family are comfortable with the duration needed for the build. 

At the start of the project, we create an ideal schedule that outlines the timeline we will strive to complete the build in and block off days in the calendar to ensure that we never overcommit. So, when it comes to your project, you can trust that we have got you covered.

At Shaw Build, we take pride in being a full-service construction company. Our skilled crew (who you can meet here!) is equipped to handle every aspect of your project, from concreting to framing to laying floors to steeling out your new pool to screwing off the deck to battening out the roof & everything in-between. 

And, to ensure that your plumbing needs are fully covered, we have our in-house expert, Ben, who will handle all aspects of plumbing from the in-ground works to fitting off your brand-new showerhead. 

For specialty trades such as electrical, painting, floor sanding, and cabinetry, we engage a select group of subcontractors who are the true professionals. Rest assured, these subcontractors are part of the Shaw Build family, and we work with them on every build. With Shaw Build, you can trust that your dream home is in good hands.

Of course! Many of our clients come to us during the architectural phase and provide us with their concept plans for a second opinion. 

We are more than happy to assist, knowing that navigating plans can be challenging at times. We are here to make the process as smooth as possible for you and ensure your dream home is exactly what you’re envisioning. 

Not at all! Once we begin the quoting process, Bek will reach out to you to discuss the fixtures and finishes you wish to go with. If you have a specifications sheet or a Pinterest board, we often use that as inspiration to ensure that we include everything you want in the quote. 

If you are unsure, we can provide you with a guide that details the minimum requirements we need to quote as accurately as possible. Once we finalize the quote, we will send it over with a folder that outlines all the fixtures and finishes we have included. 

From tile specifications and carpet colours to tapware and window hoods, we want to make sure that everything is accounted for in the quote. Our goal is to avoid any surprises halfway through the build and ensure that you and your family are fully aware of all costs involved in creating your dream home.

Yes, absolutely! We have a great example of this from a recent project we completed. We were able to restore all the original weather boards to their prime, many of which dated back to the original house from 1886. 

Additionally, the owner chose to use all recycled windows and doors. While this required more time and effort than usual, we meticulously restored them to look brand new! If you are opting to use recycled materials just let us know so we can allow ample time for the restoration process. 

Here's how it typically goes: You kick things off by connecting with an architect (if you don't have one, Shaw Build can happily suggest some great ones) to start designing your dream home. 

Once the architect has finalised the drawings and you've given the thumbs up, soil tests have been conducted, and engineering is complete, Shaw Build will calculate all the costs and present you with a detailed pricing analysis. 

Next, we'll draw up the contracts and collect a deposit if you're happy with everything included. 

Now for the exciting part! We'll begin constructing your new home with regular site visits every fortnight (or more often if you prefer). 

Finally, after we've built everything to your satisfaction and ours, we'll hand over the keys and eagerly look forward to your next project!
